CL2 Eco Update...

In 2002, with the birth of our first child, Sophie, we became increasingly aware of the importance of being as ecologically and environmentally friendly as possible.

As a L’Oréal Professional salon, the colours we use are so gentle they’re safe enough to eat (though we definitely don’t recommend trying!). 

This means we’re not putting any harsh chemicals onto your hair or into the water system. It also enables us to recycle all of our foil along with the rest of our salon waste.

We’ve also switched to SimplyDry towels, which are completely recyclable and compostable. We even encourage clients to take them home and reuse them for everyday jobs like cleaning floors and windows, mopping up spills, or even drying the dog! 

These towels are made in the UK from renewable, ethically sourced materials, with wood pulp from certified sustainable forests using environmentally sound processes. 

This greener, cleaner towelling system not only protects the environment but has also significantly reduced our carbon footprint—while maintaining the highest levels of salon hygiene for our clients.

All of the lighting in the salon is now halogen, using far less electricity than conventional salon lighting, while providing the bright white light that’s perfect for colouring. 

The bulbs also last longer, meaning less waste overall.

In winter, we keep things cosy with low-energy infrared heating, ensuring you stay warm while we keep our energy use efficient.
